A Lung Health Study

Welcome to the SCOPE COPD study which stands for systematic characterisation of pre-chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and COPD.

Are you interested in taking part in medical research?

This study includes people with or without a prior doctor-led diagnosis of COPD. If you have a history of smoking, vaping, or if you are a healthy volunteer, we may be able to review your eligibility.

This is where your involvement comes in.

What is Involved?

The study includes a lung function assessment and blood test, with optional CT scans where appropriate. Some participants may also choose to have bronchoscopy, a camera test to examine the lungs.

You can be paid for your participation in this study.

By taking part in this study, you will be helping us understand more about how to best treat and manage COPD for the future.

Without the help of people like you, volunteering to take part in studies like SCOPE-COPD, future management and treatments for COPD wouldn't be able to progress.
